Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can is a choreography project depicting physical contact and different kinds of touch. The piece is working with developing concepts from games such as tagged, twister, the floor is lava and more. Through playing and experimenting with the physical touch in these games, the dancers are participants in the creation of the choreography.
Through playfulness, the piece will put in context the meaning of touch in a very digitalized world. Today, more and more meetings take place online and behind a screen. This piece hopes to serve as a reminder of the importance of physical touch in todays society.
Catch Me If You Can is also created through a cross-disciplinary collaboration with a cellist who is composing the music for the piece. In that way the piece seeks to find a common ground for musician and dancers to create a new room and draw the audience in.
The work premiered 25th of November 2019 in Stavanger at the UiS Faculty of Performing Arts. The piece was created for 5 dancers and in addition I was also dancing myself.
