RUSHED

RUSHED is a piece originally created for the second year choreography exam. After the exam I was asked to restage and show it at the opening ceremony at the UiS Faculty of Performing Arts in August 2019. The piece has been shown for an audience twice.

The piece is inspired by a worshipping ritual of the God of wine, Dionysus, from Greek mythology. It depicts the rush one can get in a state of ecstasy, this in a raw, intense and emotional way.

In the process of choreographing RUSHED, working with the use of voice was a key tool to find and create the movement language. Besides that, the movement quality in the piece is also inspired by the urban contemporary style. Therefore it also works with different kinds of grooves.
